The Swift Creek Academy Performers—SCAPS—are SCAPA’s jazz/modern company. The SCAPS company is comprised of a junior and a senior group. Both groups perform annually at SCAPA’s Annual Holiday Happening, at various competitions throughout the year, and the Virginia Dance Festival. SCAPS produces a showcase each May featuring dances re-telling a classic story; recent shows have told the stories of Peter Pan, Little Shop of Horrors, and Alice in Wonderland. The May showcase also includes dances performed throughout the year and pieces choreographed by individual company members. SCAPS auditions will be held in September. Celtic Reflection is SCAPA’s Irish dance company. Junior company members range in age from 9 to 13; senior company members range in age from 11 to adult. Celtic Reflection has performed on the Carnival Sensation, at area elementary schools and nursing homes, at SCAPA’s Annual Holiday Happening, the Virginia Dance Festival, and in Brandermill’s annual July 4th Parade. Celtic Reflection will be hosting their NAIDF-sanctioned feis Jig By the James on March 3, 2012. Auditions for Celtic Reflection are held in June.
